Eldar Production Delays

It seems there might be some production issues going on for the upcoming Eldar release. We all know that the Tau release was a mess, and we are all hoping that the eldar release will have most of these issues fixed.

Over the last 6 months or so, we have all heard that there have been sightings of eldar stockpiled in warehouses, so exactly how accurate this is or how much GW production is a mess on an upcoming eldar release is still really in the air.

Please take this bit with some extra salt.

Sad news, I just spoke to my retailer I typically go to, he said his distributor told him not to expect any of the Eldar in the first 2 weeks of their release. GW is so far behind in production that they have not even received any of their High Elves yet either...I hope some of you will be more fortunate in finding them then I will be, it sounds like GW production is a mess still and they are going to be taking care of their direct sales first and foremost.

  4. Surely this can't be right. They have had these in play testing for a while right?

A month of production time to get the models ready after they saw the tau demand is surely enough?

    1. I still think that the eldar have been stockpiled long enough that these issues are not going to be surfacing.

    2. I remember that thread, I think the problem was the store using an indy distributor and not dealing direct thru GW.

  5. Good too see you back up and running even if it's only a temp site (there's been a hole in my life without your rumour's).

As long as they have the codex available for me on release day i'll be a happy bunny with just that.

  6. As long as they have plenty of Codex's, I am happy to wait a month for models.

  7. I still think that these "production delays" are just a way for GW to have all the sales to themselves for the week prior, and the first couple weeks of launch. Also makes independant retailers look bad and funnels sales to the GW stores. They tried it with Tau,profited handily, got away with it and I think the trend of "production delays" (except GW stores) will continue...

  8. plus side to living in the UK we have all our stock and it gets sold out within hours of pre orders, so atleast we have the stock to start with.

  9. I live on the west coast of Canada. With the tau release I learned that product for my area ships out 3 days ahead of the uk, so our GW store"s pre-orders got filled before the UK's did, and that was if you'd managed to do it on the Friday night (sat in England) before all stock ran out. I'm working to understand their system so that hopefully one day, I can buy a collector's edition Sisters of Battle codex before they sell out.

    1. I don't think you'll have a problem ordering a limited edition codex since there's a set number for them. I can't imagine them printing only 500 of the 1000 or so they sell and then say oh well, we still need to print another 500 some days later.

  10. I do wonder though, if this will be a factor in the release of the codex. I also wonder if direct pre-orders will experience these delays as well.

  11. If the codex is out on schedule I'll be happy waiting a bit longer for the new kits to catch up. I could use the extra time to flesh out my corsairs.
