Gotta say, bummed there are no new bikes
ReplyDeletePersonally I like the current ones, and I like that they are different from the Dark Eldar ones.
Deleteso no plastic aspect warriors... sad, from the rummors the one that interesed me most was the 2 aspect combo plastic boxes, any idea if the dire avengers sculps are changed or just the same sculps in a 5 man box at 26 euros (not sure on the price in usd) from the previus 10 man for 31, wich, btw sounds really like something gw would do
ReplyDeleteHey, Natfka.
ReplyDeleteI saw this list posted this morning, and it was always attributed to pizzaguardian on Dakka. Is that the source here, as well? Do we have any confirmation from multiple sources that this is the entire June release for Eldar?
This was from my inbox. I am hoping to get retailer confirmations later today or tomorrow.
DeleteHow disappointingly (yet predictably) limited.

ReplyDeleteOuch, No jet bikes. Looks like GW don't want my money. I'll get the codex but I had saved for a box of bikes as well. No Aspect remakes in plastic either. A lot of rumors not come to fruition.
ReplyDeleteI think that people need to realize that this release is entirely predictable given the past 6ed releases. We have blown this release into something its not and rumor sites have hypebeasted this release to unattainable expectations.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you apart from the bikes. Aspects were never going to happen and they did sound like wish-listing. But the bikes I had taken as a given.
DeleteYes, but I wonder when they will release all those models the community is waiting for (and, if you can trust reports, are done already).
DeleteWith the current release schedule there seems to be next to no time to introduce some "second wave" models for various 6E codices. It would be sad to see some old metal models redone for the 6E 2.0 (or 7th?) books.
I didn't think the new bikes would happen, since we've not seen any updated kits for existing plastic for the last few releases. I did think that the new aspect warriors might happen, though - it would have fitted with the strategy of moving current finecast stuff to plastic.
DeleteI'm wondering if this is the stuff we'll start seeing when we get to the end of the codex releases if all the books get done in 2013-14. But 2015 is a long long wait for updated kits...
Another thought occurs as well - with the apparent problems with supply for the Tau and Eldar releases, maybe GW just don't have the production capacity to do all of these kits along with the codex release.
DeleteHeres another thought( and it is only a theory). Next month is supposed to be apocc redox along with an uber kit. What if there was a small release for the 6th edition xenos books, as the uber kit is likely to be chaos/imperium. Jetbikes could be part of this, as a saimm hann warhost seems like a good formation for apocc, and the greater deamons, as they would also make a good formation. Maybe even the cultists and helbrute?
DeleteJust wanted to put this theory out there.
Just because something hasn't happened in the past doesn't mean it's automatically certain in the future....
DeleteI think with all the new releases GW will only release new kits for previous metal/finecast models and new models. After all the existing books are updated (at this pace in only a couple years) then I think we'll see them revisit the armies and revamp existing plastics and other kits in desperate need.
DeleteThat being said, I am surprised by the lack of bikes. They were some of the first rumors to come out about the Eldar release.
Repack on jetbikes would have been nice over a repack on the dire avengers seems like a waste to get a repack on something that is fine the way it is. Battleforce doesn't seem to be anything to ride home about. The only thing major this release seems to be getting is the knight, wraith guard combo pack, and the planes. Two of these options seem to be standard for releases these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info
Natfka
5 pack avengers? Sad. But understandable. they'll re-price the 5 man squad to be slightly more then half the 10 man box.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much new their was going to be some disappointment in terms of models. I'm shocked that the disappointment turned out to be no new bikes. That being said the big thing is a new codex. I have an entirely kitbashed counts-as corsairs army anyway, making non-DE bikes from reavers is easy. Wish I was getting new JB's but not the end of the world. Looking forward to the fliers.
ReplyDelete6 psychic powers for each discipline? That's a lot of powers! That also makes them a lot more random, as it is less likely the user will get the one he/she wants.
ReplyDeleteThe primaris powers will most certainly determine how good their psykers are. If they get guide or Fortune as primaris powers, that will make them pretty damn good.
Damn my typing, you got there first. Primaris powers will definatly determine the fate of the farseers, unlee they can buy an upgrade to choose what powers.
DeleteSome of them could be Warlock powers. I don't really know what to think of this as while they didn't have very many powers you knew what each would get and could tailor units nicely, not to mention it Went off automatically. Now if they get their powers randomly then with Psychic tests and Deny the which they might become less effective. IDK, I'll just wait an see I guess.
DeleteI expect there to be 2 disciplines, the way of the Farseer, and the way of the Warlock. The Farseer will likely have more buffs and manipulations, though expect Mindwar to be in there. The warlock path will likely be more about witchfire and more aggressive stuff. the kind of stuff you would want to see supporting units of guardians. IMO.
DeleteOf course... is would not surprise me if someone like Eldrad could just pick and choose what he wants.
ReplyDeleteDissapointing (but expected) size release. I was really hoping for new bikes and spiders - guess I'll save my money. Only things on there I'm really intrested in is Illic Nightspear, and the Wraithguard.
ReplyDeleteAlso, anyone notice that Eldar are getting a full 14 psychic powers! That means lots of new tricks for my Farseer(s)
[Oh yeh, I forgot, my farseer won't know what he's learned right up to the point the battle starts......]
Yuck - the Wraithknight is a Walker? Welp, there is the Phil Kelly for you, taking something that could be useful with a Toughness and Invul save and giving it an Armour Value (hello Maulerfiend)
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty big assumption based on a word.
DeleteAs much as I want to agree with you from a "I want it because it would be better" perspective, I can't. It's a machine, it's a suit. It doesn't get a toughness value. It would be like assigning a toughness value to a Dreadnaught.
DeleteUnless the Tau uber suit has a toughness value, this one shouldn't either
Umm..... The riptide does have a toughness value (of 6)
DeleteIf it is a walker then this is the biggest troll all year.
DeleteI'd rather my £70 model not getting blown up first turn by a lucky roll on a Lascannon or a Melta in a drop pod lands next to it.
hey natfka, it's good to have you back!!
ReplyDeletei was waiting a new model for bikes. maybe they are planned for a second wave of releases. if they didn´t change guardians then the battle force is useless. i´m expecting to see a change in shuriken weapons, to match the bolters and the other standar weapons. the only left is to wait a few more days
greetings from Argentina
definitely on its way!

I'm excited to see the farseer posse. I like the seer council, so I can only imagine that the posse is going to be fan-tastic.
ReplyDeleteTeaser video is up at GW. ;-)
ReplyDeleteNo jetbikes or new vyper etc... Thats one Saim-Hann army I won't be buying then!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back.
ReplyDeleteCodex + Crimson Hunter = 100€ for me I guess.
ReplyDeleteNot really interested by the other things :(
I was really hoping we would see new autarch-aspect minis. Hopefully this will be covered by the new rules...
£70 for the wraith knight! Ouch
ReplyDeleteAlthough just seen a mention of a windrider jet bike squadron for £20...new jet bikes?
DeleteFlyer same price as tau....wraith guard £30 for 5....
DeleteI to am disappointed by what is there, but I do hold hope for something else in the future:
ReplyDelete-We had the rumour that the were facing production problems and the launch would be staggered, maybe not production problems, but a staggered release because:
-There is an Iyanden book, but no other craftworlds, this release seems to fit an Iyanden-style army. Maybe jetbikes will be with the Saim-Hann release, there are no sign of the rumoured repackaged Guardians, but that would make more sense with Ulthwé, which could leave the Aspects for the other craftworlds.
-I fully expect the Psychic Powers to be 6 Farseer Powers w/ primaris and 6 warlock powers w/Primaris.
-The Writhknight seems a tad disappointing, seeing as it looks like an Eldar Riptide, or maybe it's the start of a trend?
It could easily be 6 farseer powers and 6 spiritseer powers. Spiritseer could be a farseer replacement requirement for iyanden list, or just an alternate HQ.
DeleteWell, Spiritseer has always been a Warlock upgrade to help with Wraithsight, which is why I don't think they'll get their own powers. Makes more sense for Warlocks and Farseers.
DeleteI don't see a listing here for the Iyanden book... really hope its not digital only...
ReplyDeleteMaybe I missed a rumour somewhere, but has there been any news on what, if any, effect the new Eldar Codex will have on the current Dark Eldar Codex?
ReplyDeleteEldar Codex - $49.50
ReplyDeleteEldar LE Codex - $100
WH40K PSYCHIC POWERS: ELDAR ENG - $7.50
Farseer - $20
Wraithknight - $115
Wraithguard - $50
Hemlock Wraithfighter - $65
Dire Avengers (5 pack) - $35
Battleforce - $115
Windrider Jetbike Squadron - $40
Spiritseer - $19.25
Illic Nightspear - $19.25
IYANDEN: A CODEX ELDAR SUPPLEMENT - $49.50
IYANDEN CODEX SUPPLEMENT SPECIAL EDITION - $85
I hope the wraithknight isn't $115. Only thing I can think of GW having priced that high is a bane blade. 35 for a 5 man dire avenger would be crazy as it's 37 now and you get 10. Might as well go buy the boxes that are left of the old sets.
DeleteThose look like the Canadian prices. If so... Well, that WraithKnight better be worth it. I am soarly tempted by it.
DeleteThose are too cheap to be Canadian prices. 115 for a battleforce is a US price. For example the BA battleforce is 110 in the US and 135 in Canada.
DeleteIt's just hard to see how the knight is priced $30 dollars more than the riptide. I did miss out on the windrider squadron, so this could be the new jet bikes.
I wonder how come a lyanden mini codex will come before a harlequin mini codex? The harlequins are even listed by themselves in the rulebook.
DeleteAre the harlequins getting a full codex on their own perhaps?
I sure hope so as i doubt we'll see a solitaire becuase then it unbalances with the DE codex. Maybe future supplements will depend on the success of Iyanden. Though, with the new plastic wraithguard, spitirseer and hemlock probably now forming the core for the supplement it could work well.
DeleteAll in all plastic wraithguard (massive yay!!!), lack of a mention for jetbikes (massive boo!!!) plus obligatory flyer and uber face-stomping monstrousity mega bucket combo (both check) pretty standard. Not that I'm any less excited as its Eldar and no matter how many new projects i start i always drift back to the craftworld. Just hope Autarchs get some decent attention/wargear and shuriken weapons hit things further away ;)
Bring it on!!!
$35 for 5 Dire Avengers...
DeleteSorry but $7 a model is a little too ridiculous.
I don't really know much about Eldar, but Windrider host jetbikes sound like new jetbikes to me. That along with the potential for more than two Wraith units had me tempted, very very tempted
DeleteMakes me wonder if the wraith knight is a super heavy seeing as apoc is next release.
DeleteList just published by my FLGS as what is available for pre order
ReplyDeleteConfirmed Eldar releases for June 1st
Codex Eldar
Eldar Psychic Powers Deck
Farseer

ReplyDeleteMy wallet is groaning already.
